SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The temperatures may be dropping throughout the state, but Saint Paul is encouraging couples to find their romantic side and heat things up. Last week Saint Paul was selected as a finalist for 10Best and USA Today’s ‘Best Romantic N. American Getaway’ category and is currently sitting at number one in the rankings with other contenders close behind. There are 19 other cities are up for the coveted title including Naples, Fla., and Santa Fe, N.M.
Described as the smaller, quieter and, many say, the more sophisticated of the Twin Cities, the publication notes couples love it for its diverse romantic offerings, like leisurely paddle- wheeler rides along the Mississippi, beer tastings, ice skating and a thriving performance arts scene.
David Miller, General Manager of The Saint Paul Hotel, agrees with this recognition. “Saint Paul is a very romantic city. From the outdoor ice rink to strolling through the parks full of thousands of lights, how can you not find romance around every corner?”
The Saint Paul Hotel, recently was named to Travel + Leisure ‘Top 500 World’s Best Hotels of 2014’ list, is a popular choice for couples looking for romance because of its trademark style, sophistication and old world charm. Another unique spot for a romantic night in the city is the Covington Inn Bed & Breakfast. Permanently moored to the Mississippi river, this quaint boat sits in the reflection of downtown and offers a quiet getaway in historic and elegant comfort.
As the temperatures drop, there is no better time for romance in the city. Visit Saint Paul wants to know, "Does the cold bring out your romantic side?” Prove it. Vote today and every day until January 27 at 11:00 am CST. www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-romantic-n-american-getaway/.
