Overview
The Dawson Redenius Septet brings together some of the finest jazz musicians from the Twin Cities and the Chippewa Valley to explore original compositions and jazz standards, bridging the vibrant intersection of tradition and innovation. Inspired by the progressive sounds of New Orleans, the Septet combines swing, blues, and modern jazz aesthetics into a powerful and dynamic performance.
Under the leadership of Dawson Redenius, a visionary bandleader and trumpeter, the group has toured regionally and regularly features the artistry of tap dancer Ashley Gonzalez, a rhythmic force in the Twin Cities jazz scene, and vocalist Hannah Durham, a Las Vegas native whose voice has become a cherished presence in the Chippewa Valley community, both of whom will be included in the NYM performance.
The Dawson Redenius Septet crafts a rich slice of jazz spirit, celebrating the joy, creativity, and enduring legacy of America's original collective art form.
