Gatsby: Death of an Irishman is a dramatic and vivid exploration of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s early life and his struggle with identity—personal, cultural, and artistic. Author Patrick O’Sullivan Greene reveals how Fitzgerald’s fraught relationship with his Irish and Catholic roots shaped the creation of Jay Gatsby, blending fact and fiction in the making of The Great Gatsby. From the French Riviera to St. Paul, this compelling narrative traces Fitzgerald’s journey of self-invention and the forces that defined his most iconic work.
