La Boulangerie Marguerite
Overview
Since 1921, the building at the corner of Randolph and Syndicate has operated as a family-run, neighborhood bakery. Each generation of ownership has represented families dedicated to collaborating and bringing this community their best in bread and pastries.
In 2017, when West African born French pastry chef and owner François Kiemde and his midwestern rooted wife/business partner, Melissa Borgmann-Kiemde, purchased PJ Murphy’s Bakery, they understood their opportunity, and their responsibility, to steward the legacy of this neighborhood establishment forward. As the bakery approaches its 100th year in operation, Francois and Melissa are answering the call to bring this bakery and its products into its next century.
Reflecting both its St. Paul roots and the global reach of a French artisan, the Kiemdes, together are evolving the bakery to authentically reflect who they are and their small businesses core values of Community, Curiosity, and Quality.
Core Value:
Quality: Quality is about understanding our path to excellence.
Curiosity: Curiosity is our willingness to learn and be open hearted.
Community: Community is our team work.
