Golden Fig Fine Foods
You don’t realize what fresh flavors your pantry is missing until you step into Grand Avenue’s Golden Fig Fine Foods. Owner Laurie McCann Crowell, who once worked with Ina Garten, blends each of her seasonings on a weekly basis and bottles them individually. Whether you’re looking for pie spices, fresh snacks or drink mixers, you’ll find it hand-crafted at Golden Fig.
J.W. Hulme
For more than 100 years, J.W. Hulme’s leather goods have been handcrafted in Saint Paul and use tanners located in Minnesota, Maine, Illinois and Tennessee. To ensure top quality products, the company adheres to an apprenticeship program to pass on the tradition bags and accessories in Saint Paul.
Mademoiselle Miel
We aren’t sure which is sweeter: Mademoiselle Miel’s honey bonbons or their creator, Susan Brown. The bonbons are made with honey made by bees that Susan keeps on top of buildings throughout the cities—she keeps some of her bees and harvests their honey on the roof of Union Depot, for example.
Heimie's Haberdashery
Classic men's fashion is always in style at Heimie's Haberdashery, which has been dressing men in Saint Paul for more than 90 years. The store selects its fabrics from a shop in Montreal and, although the store also offers hats, cigars, shoes, ties and more, its specialty is fitted suits.
Legacy Chocolates
Anyone who loves chocolate owes Legacy Chocolates a visit. The truffles, barks, coffees and smoothies are Mark and Lorraine Dixon’s specialties, and it’s impossible to leave this Lowertown cafe without bringing something home to enjoy later, too.
Pearson’s Candy Company
Sure, Pearson’s Candy Company may have started in Minneapolis, but it made the move to Saint Paul more than 50 years ago. Any time you see a Salted Nut Roll or a Bit-O-Honey, know that it came from our West 7th neighborhood.
StormSister Spatique
Look good and buy local. StormSister Spatique creates vegan, gluten-free, ethically sourced lipsticks, and each of the shades are named after the woman who inspired the color.
