You can’t go wrong with the gorditas, flautas, or chilaquiles.
Hungry for more? Waldmann Brewing is a historic German-style brewery located in the West 7th neighborhood of Saint Paul, and is housed in a 19th-century building that was once a saloon and boarding house for German immigrants. The building has been restored to its original state and now features a cozy taproom and outdoor beer garden.
Then, travel on to Moscow on the Hill, a charming Russian-themed hot spot that features a warm and inviting atmosphere with a cozy fireplace, Russian-inspired décor, and live music on select nights.
The menu offers a variety of traditional Russian dishes, including borscht, pelmeni (dumplings), stroganoff, and blinis (crepes). The restaurant also has an extensive vodka menu, featuring over 100 different types of vodka from Russia and around the world.
Romance in the City
Located in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood, W.A. Frost and Co. was once a Victorian mansion dating back to the 1880s. Inside, the restaurant exudes old-world charm with antique furnishings, a cozy fireplace, and a stunning outdoor patio with twinkling lights and lush greenery.
The menu features contemporary American cuisine with a focus on locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. The bar offers an extensive wine list, craft cocktails, and a rotating selection of local beers.
Lake lovers should head to Dock & Paddle at the Como Lakeside Pavilion for date night. With ample seating inside and outside on a first-come, first-serve basis, diners who prefer something savory can dive into a basket of Dock’s Fish and Chips, while sweet tooths should indulge in a scoop of ice cream from the Pavilion. There’s always live music here, too, creating a romantic ambience with beautiful Lake Como as the backdrop.
For an evening that’s both upscale and moody, head to The Lexington. The historic building is a beautifully restored Art Deco structure that was originally built in 1935. Inside, the restaurant features a warm and inviting atmosphere with dark wood paneling, chandeliers, and cozy booths. The menu features classic American fare with a modern twist, and the bar offers a wide selection of craft cocktails, wine, and beer.
